Course Overview

This course will discuss the common designs of occlusal appliances and when to consider each design. It will also discuss how to assess the anatomy at the tooth level and the joint level to help frame the patient’s expectations for successful treatment.

Additionally, you'll learn the fabrication of the occlusal appliance as well as how to set a fair fee based on the type of occlusal appliance will be discussed in detail. Cases studies will provide valuable examples of both successful and unsuccessful appliance therapy to provide clinical relevance for everyday dentistry.

  PRESENTER

Jim McKee, DDS

Dr. McKee is a member of the Spear Resident Faculty. He has maintained a private practice since 1984 in Downers Grove, Illinois where he treats a wide variety of cases with a focus on predictable restorative dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and former president of the American Equilibration Society.

He has lectured both nationally and internationally for over 25 years and directs several study clubs. Dr. McKee graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1980 and earned his dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1984.
